Chris Leuchter lived his life to the fullest. He truly loved the world of finance, living in Hampstead, London, and working in the financial district. At Bank of America in London he was well respected as head of liability sales for the bank’s global derivatives products group. With his wife Mary Hide, he was adventure travelling at every opportunity whether it was mountain biking in Morocco or off-piste skiing in the Alps. His eclectic interests and good nature found him happily in the company of great friends in London, from investment bankers to opera singers and filmmakers.

He died September 28, 1998, after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle to work.

Chris greatly enjoyed his years at Queen’s in Commerce, his participation in Varsity swimming and the rich comradery of campus life.

The Christopher Leuchter Memorial Award is established by his family in memory of Chris’ spirit and personality. Awarded on the basis of academic achievement and athletic excellence to student-athletes in the Bachelor of Commerce program at Queen's University and who are on the competition roster of a Gaels interuniversity athletic team.

He is greatly missed.

Please be sure to fill out the commemorative portion of the giving form entitled "Dedicate my gift to Christopher Leuchter." This will allow Queen's to notify his brother of your thoughtful donation to his memorial award.
