In Memory of April Gougeon (Stoker), Law ’12
In Memory of April Gougeon, Law ’12
The Queen’s Law community is deeply saddened by the passing of our cherished classmate, April Gougeon, and her son, Oliver, who tragically passed away together on December 29, 2023. April’s dedication as a lawyer, her compassion for others, and her commitment to family were qualities we admired in her, and Oliver’s kind spirit reflected his mother’s gentle nature.
In memory of April and Oliver, friends and family have established the April Gougeon (Stoker) Award in Law in their honour. This expendable award, based on financial need and academic achievement, will support law students with preference given to students enrolled in a course on Information Privacy Law. It ensures that future students can access the same exceptional education that we did, regardless of financial barriers. The goal is to raise $125,000 to establish a permanent endowment for the award.
