the John Armitage Rowing Athletic Award
Funds to this award go towards an Athletic Financial Award established in honour of John Armitage.
John Armitage was the program’s Head Coach for over forty years and spent endless time developing rowing in Kingston and supporting student-athletes. Friends of John created this award to honour his contributions to the sport and to ensure student-athletes can excel in training and school.
It is awarded based on academic achievement and athletic excellence to student-athletes in any degree program who are on the competition roster of the Queen’s Rowing Team.
The Positive Power of Your Generosity
By supporting student-athletes, you are promoting values beyond the sport itself. Integrity, character, commitment and teamwork are communicated to recipients each time they draw from your support.
It is not surprising that the skills and values cultivated in Queen’s student-athletes not only help them achieve athletic and academic success but also prepare them to serve as leaders later in life. An Athletic Award provides the first step toward that success as they prepare for their future.
