Michele Mainland
The Michele Mainland Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 by family, friends and fellow students to honour the memory of Michele Mainland B.Sc. '97 (Chem. Eng.).
Awards are made to Chemical Engineering students in second and third year with highest overall standing on year's work and to the fourth year student with highest standing and continuing to post-graduate studies. A medal is also awarded to a graduating Chemical Engineering student who, in the opinion of classmates and department staff, best exemplifies Michele's personal qualities - persistence and cheerfulness in the face of adversity, sense of adventure, tenacity, courage and helpfulness to others.
Michele's family has planted daffodils for many years to keep her memory alive along with creating a named fund.
