In Memory of Douglas Hargreaves
Although honored many times for his professional contributions and accomplishments, Doug's most enduring legacy consists of his inspirational approach to leadership and life. He was a source of optimism, encouragement and energy; a man of uncommon modesty; respectful and respected in turn. Doug Hargreaves believed that sport was a vital complement to the education of young people and cited many of his best athletes as some of the best academic students at Queen's University. The Doug Hargreaves Memorial Athletic Award is designed to promote and support that connection for students at Queen's who are on the competition roster of a Gaels interuniversity athletic team.
