Established in memory of Dr. Richard Milner (Meds 81), this fund will be awarded to a Family Medicine Resident on the basis of financial need and for activities related to leadership in primary care.

Rick was a family physician in Kingston for over thirty years and he was also the Lead Physician of the Maple Family Health Team from 2007 to 2016. During his tenure, Dr. Milner was instrumental on building the Maple Health Team into one of Kingston's largest Family Medicine healthcare providers. He will be remembered for his passion to improve care for the people in Kingston and for inspiring a workplace culture where everyone felt supported and valued.

Dr. Milner took a great interest in educating Residents and he was always happy to lend his expertise whenever it was needed. He will be fondly remembered by his colleagues as a mentor and friend.

In his personal life, Rick loved spending time with his wife Margaret and his children enjoying outdoor activities such as golfing and skiing, and relaxing at the cottage which often included a challenging home-improvement project.
