Robert & Eva (Bertram) Cole Awards
Bob Cole, Sc’51, and his wife, Eva changed the lives of a significant number of Queen’s students in Smith Engineering and the Faculty of Arts and Science through the creation of The Robert & Eva (Bertram) Cole Bursary. They were always proud of the quality and character of individuals who received this award and derived great satisfaction in learning about the accomplishments of those who received it. The academic success rate for recipients is 96% – this speaks to the quality of the recipients and demonstrates the effectiveness of this bursary, which allows students to focus entirely on their academics without a financial burden.
Bob passed away in his 92nd year in January 2018 and joined Eva Richardson (nee Bertram) Cole who died in July of 2012. They left a large and loving family of five children and ten grandchildren to carry on their legacy. They were the loving parents of Barbara; Christine and her late husband Leo; Susan; Richard and his wife Lisa; Michael and his wife Jennifer. Bob and Eva considered themselves very fortunate and were regular supporters of the good work of education, healthcare and other organizations in their community. Bob and Eva were especially proud of the students they have been able to assist through Queen’s University.
Your support of this bursary -- in memory of a couple who have made an enduring contribution to the lives of many Queen’s students -- is most welcome.
Please be sure to fill out the commemorative portion of the giving form entitled "Dedicate my gift." This will allow Queen's to notify their family of your thoughtful donation to The Robert & Eva (Bertram) Cole Bursary.
