The add*ed (autism and developmental disabilities- education) Research Group at Queen's University is dedicated to advancing research, innovation, and community engagement in special and inclusive education. Our work focuses on enhancing support for students with autism and other developmental disabilities by equipping educators, schools, and school boards with the knowledge and tools to foster both academic and social growth.

We lead initiatives that bridge research and practice through:

  • Collaborations with educators, fostering partnerships and providing expert consultation.
  • Practical research translation, ensuring findings inform real-world teaching strategies.
  • Pre-service and in-service training, strengthening educator capacity at all levels.
  • Leadership development, training master’s and doctoral students to become future leaders in research, policy, and inclusive education.
  • Applied research on effective teaching practices, driving meaningful change in classrooms.
