The Indigenous Tuition Support Initiative

Queen’s Faculty of Law is turning reconciliation commitments into action through the Indigenous Tuition Support Initiative. This landmark program provides full tuition coverage for Indigenous students, with preference given to students from local First Nations whose territories include or are adjacent to Queen’s University.

The legal profession continues to lack adequate Indigenous representation, and financial barriers remain one of the most significant obstacles to change. Queen’s Law is committed to breaking down those barriers and ensuring Indigenous voices are heard where they are most needed—in courtrooms, legislative chambers, and community leadership.

Let’s continue the work that has made Queen’s Law a national leader in Indigenous legal research, education, and community engagement. Building on strong partnerships with local First Nations, the Kingston Native Centre, and the Language Nest, and guided by the expertise of Indigenous legal scholars such as Kimberly Murray and Lindsay Borrows, Queen’s Law is committed to advancing reconciliation through action.

Each student who walks through our doors brings with them a powerful vision: to advocate for their people, to change systems from within, and to ensure that the law in Canada reflects the values of equity and respect for all Nations.

Your support makes that vision possible. A gift to the Indigenous Tuition Support Initiative is a promise that Indigenous students will always have a place at Queen’s Law, where their voices, experiences, and leadership shape the future of justice in Canada.
