In Memory of Heidi Scott
With great sadness, we announce that Heidi M. Scott, 27, died on June 5, 2025. Heidi will be sorely missed by her parents, Chris and Neal, her sister Nicole, her aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers, and her dog Bruno. She was born in New Zealand, then lived in the USA before moving to Kingston, ON. Heidi graduated from KCVI, then from Oberlin College in Ohio. She was working on her Masters in virology at Queen’s University, and planned to start a PhD in the fall. Heidi loved the outdoors, traveling, and being active, and was very artistic. She loved to spend time in the mountains. She was an accomplished piano and oboe player, and designed and sold cards to raise money for Kingston 4 Paws Service Dogs.
The Heidi Scott Memorial Graduate Award, established in June 2025, with an initial pledge by her family, was created to honour Heidi's passion for biomedical science and research.
