Dedication in Honour of Greg McKellar
Thank you for your interest in supporting this initiative to dedicate a space inside the revitalized Richardson Stadium in honour of Greg McKellar.
Greg has had an enormous impact on generations of student leaders at Queen’s during his 27 years as AMS Information Officer. Thousands of students have benefited from Greg’s mentorship, guidance, and friendship over the years, and as he now retires from the AMS, it is an opportune time to let Greg know how much his support has meant to us.
Athletics has always been an important part of Greg’s life, both broadly and specifically as a devout supporter of Queen’s Football. The revitalized Richardson Stadium presents an ideal opportunity to name a space in Greg’s honour to recognize his immeasurable contributions to Queen’s, student life at Queen’s, and to signify Greg’s support of athletics and the values that it instills.
Every Queen's student, alumni and Gaels fan has experienced the rush of the Tricolour pride and the spontaneous roar of the Oil Thigh cheer that comes after a victory. For almost a century, Richardson Stadium has been the literal and figurative rallying point for Queen's students, alumni, family and friends.
Building on Queen's existing tradition on excellence, the revitalized Richardson Stadium will be one of the finest outdoor turf stadiums in the country; the largest between Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. As the proud home of the Gaels, the stadium will provide the space and amenities required to enhance student-athlete and spectator experiences.
The revitalization of Richardson Stadium is not just the building of a new stadium; it's the fostering of Gaels pride, spirit and tradition, and the building of a strong university overall.
Now is the time for the entire Gaels family to rally behind this transformational project and ensure that all Queen's students have the same opportunity to embrace the power of Queen's spirit and make their own lasting memories.
