In honour of our 40th Reunion, we have created a special giving initiative, the Science 1979 Innovation Fund. Our class collectively had a fantastic experience at Queen’s. We feel that the education we received was crucial to our future success. Ensuring that the Faculty can remain competitive and offer students an educational experience that has both strong academic and experiential learning opportunities is extremely important to us. For this reason, we have chosen to create a fund that will provide required updates for equipment and laboratory spaces in Mitchell Hall.
We hope that this fund will help to strengthen some of the more practical educational elements of the Queen’s Engineering experience and provide students with skill-sets that will help them excel at their future careers.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 for this initiative by December 2019. A classmate has generously offered to provide a $100,000 contribution toward our campaign, meaning we are already almost half-way there! Our contributions towards this program will be recognized with four named balcony spaces on the second floor of Mitchell Hall. These public-facing areas will be popular study spots for students and are a fantastic way to leave a special class legacy on campus.
As a group, we have contributed $582,156 to the Faculty of Engineering and $1,074,615 to Queen’s. Given our past generosity, we know we can meet (or exceed) this goal. Please make your donation and help us provide enhanced learning experiences to Queen’s Engineering students.
