The Queen’s First Aid Campus Response Team is a university campus first aid response team serving Queen’s University and its immediate community in Kingston. At its core, the team is composed of motivated and enthusiastic students who are looking to make a positive difference while developing their leadership, communication skills and confidence.  For almost 40 years, the unit has been a professional and beloved presence at Queen’s, providing life-changing and at times life-saving emergency care to thousands.

These volunteers generously sacrifice their time for advanced training, to provide event and on-call coverage, to help others in highly stressful situations, and to engage in community outreach.  This is fulfilling and meaningful work, but it also limits opportunities for part-time work to offset academic and living expenses, meaning these dedicated volunteers can face a higher financial burden to continue studying and living at Queen’s.  This award intends to celebrate and help these students to both volunteer generously and succeed in their studies.

Ryan Sim (Sci ’03, Tricolor Society, and Director of Queen’s First Aid in 2002-3) and other alumni and friends of Queen’s First Aid are fundraising to create an award for students in any year of any degree program at Queen’s University. Preference will be given to current or past volunteers with Queen’s First Aid.

Should funding minimums not be reached, gifts will be redirected to an existing student award fund determined by Student Awards.

Please give generously, and help this fund to reach $50,000 to become permanently endowed, helping Queen’s First Aid and other volunteers for years to come.
