Sue Bates has demonstrated great leadership volunteering for alumni Branches (Scotland, the Bahamas, Kingston, and Turks and Caicos) and most recently as the volunteer President of the QUAA Board of Directors. She continues to be a role model for members of the alumni community. Her love, passion, and dedication to the university serve as inspiration for other alumni. Notably, she has been a vocal spokesperson for the importance of philanthropy to the university and has used her platforms to spread this important message.
Gifts in honour of Sue will be allocated to the Chaplain's Trust Fund. The Chaplain's Trust Fund was established by Padre Laverty to assist students experiencing extreme financial difficulty. It helps the most vulnerable students dealing with a sudden or serious shortfall of funds needed for basic items such as: groceries, rent or medical/dental expenses.
