Deborah Turnbull embodies Queen’s spirit and pride in her everyday life. In her career in international development, her commitment to education and her dedication to her local community, Deborah is a well-deserving recipient. The Toronto Branch is excited to celebrate Deborah’s accomplishments as the 2018 Toronto Branch Award recipient.
Gifts in honour of Deborah will be allocated to the Queen's University Biological Station (QUBS) Land Trust, a fund that has helped bring QUBS to more than 3,400 hectares of extensive, contiguous land base, encompassing forests, fields, lakes, and wetlands. These lands are crucial for teaching and research centered on understanding the processes that help shape biodiversity, human environmental impacts, conservation of species at risk, and effects of climate change, among myriad other endeavors.
